Comprehension strategies

At a recent ACER workshop, Teacher caught up with Dr John Munro, Associate Professor and Head of Studies in Exceptional Learning and Gifted Education at the University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education.

In this video, he elaborates on how readers comprehend text and why they require a range of strategies in order to understand text independently and spontaneously.

Do you currently provide students with a range of strategies for comprehension?

Are you explicitly teaching these strategies?
