Maryanne Macdonald taught for five years under the principalship of Gary Downsborough. She has developed an awareness of the need for teachers to develop respectful relationships, even with the most challenging students. She has since taught in the Middle East and in Perth, and is now conducting doctoral studies into the effect of school environments on Indigenous school engagement.
